Communities across the United States walked, biked and rolled to school on October 6th to celebrate National Walk to School Day. Over 2,300 Walk to School Day events across 48 states registered to help highlight the importance of safe travel for children. The coordinating organization for Walk to School Day, the National Center for Safe Routes to School, reports that more than 60% of past Walk to School Day organizers report policy or environmental improvements in pedestrian and bike safety for children.
