Public Open House to Solicit Input for BGMPO Strategic Transportation Investment (STI) / SPOT Prioritization Projects Tuesday, July 10, 2024, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Burlington Paramount Theatre

The North Carolina Department of Transportation released the Prioritization 7.0 quantitative scores for multimodal (highway and non-highway) projects on May 24, 2024.  As part of the development of the 2026-2035 Draft STIP, the BGMP is seeking input from Planning Organizations (POs) and Divisions on priorities of existing committed projects.  These projects have previously been selected for funding through Prioritization 3.0 (P3.0), Prioritization 4.0 (P3.0), or Prioritization 5.0 (P5.0).  The input will be used to assist the STIP Unit when adjusting schedules to meet federal and state fiscal constraint requirements.  The Burlington-Graham Metropolitan Planning Organization (BGMPO) invites interested citizens and stakeholders to participate in a public open house to view and rank all P7.0 transportation projects of the Burlington-Graham planning area that includes Alamance County and portions of Orange and Guilford counties. The interactive map of projects can be found here.  The BGMPO developed a P7.0 Local Input Methodology establishing the criteria of adding local input points which influence the overall project score of a project.  The BGMPO receives fourteen (14) project submittals within each mode. Project lists were approved by the BGMPO on October 17, 2023.  The public meeting will be held in a drop-in, open house format and will provide an opportunity for the public to provide input on which projects are most important to the community.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre, Downtown Burlington. Members of the public may attend at any time during the three-hour period.  If you are unable to attend visit www.bgmpo.org to learn more about the MPO P7.0 Project List and providing comments by sending an email to comments@burlingtonnc.gov or via phone at (336) 513-5418. Comments will be received from July 10 – August 10, 2024.  All feedback will be shared with the BGMPO Technical Coordinating Committee and Transportation Advisory Board. Public comments may be provided in writing to Wannetta Mallette, comments@burlingtonnc.gov, by telephone (336) 513-5418 or in person at the BGMPO Transportation Advisory Committee meeting scheduled on August 20, 2024, 5:30 p.m., City of Burlington Municipal Conference Room, 425 Lexington Avenue, Burlington, NC. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion, or disability.
